A Walk Through the Old City's Unmarked Studios

There is no sign. There is rarely a sign. You are given a landmark — the third shutter after the tea stall — and you count.

Inside, four painters share a room with one fan. Rent is split by the square foot of wall, not floor, because wall is what you need.

None of these studios appear on a map of the city's art scene, because no such map is maintained. This is the gap Numaaish is trying, slowly, to fill.
