Numaaish — نمائش, an exhibition — is a contemporary Pakistani art platform. We find emerging artists, write about their work, and publish a digital gallery that anyone can walk through, from anywhere.

We started because the work was already here and the record was not. Studios open and close without a single photograph surviving; a strong show is remembered by the forty people who saw it. Numaaish is an attempt to keep more of it.

Our first commitment is to the artists. We publish their names, their materials and their dimensions correctly. We ask before we describe. We do not treat a painting as content.

Pakistan graduates a remarkable number of artists each year and absorbs very few of them. Without galleries willing to take a risk, without writing, and without a public archive, careers end quietly for reasons that have nothing to do with the work.

Discoverability is not a marketing problem. It decides who gets a second show, who gets taught, and who is still painting in ten years.

Our vision is unglamorous and long: a growing, accurate, well-written archive of contemporary Pakistani art — free to read, easy to search, and useful to a curator in Lahore and a collector abroad in equal measure.

The platform is run by a small editorial team led by its founder, a curator who spent years visiting studios that no map acknowledged and taking notes nobody had asked for.

Those notes became a habit, the habit became an Instagram account, and the account became this. The tone has not changed: personal, careful, and interested in the artist before the market.
